Progress Reports/Report Cards/IEPs

Progress Reports

At the end of each 3-week and 6-week period, you will receive a progress report in your child's STAR book showing how your child is doing in resource.  This grade is an average of all the grades taken in the resource class.  This grade is also included in your child's official progress report grade sent home by your child's homeroom teacher.

Report Cards

At the end of each 9-week period, you will receive a report card in your child's STAR book showing how your child is doing in resource.  This grade is an average of all the grades taken in the resource class.  This grade is also included in your child's official report card grade sent home by your child's homeroom teacher.

Updated IEPs

At the end of each 9-week period, you will receive an updated IEP (Individualized Education Plan).  It shows the individual goals that we accepted at your child's last annual ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meeting and that we work on with your child.  Beside each goal, there will be a letter or an asterisk and a percentage.  There will be an asterisk if the goal has not yet been introduced or if there has been no new information collected on that particular goal during the current 9-week period.  If the goal has been introduced and we worked on it during the 9-week period, there will be a W for work in progress (your child is still working on the goal) or an M for mastered (your child has reached or exceeded the "level of mastery criteria" listed for that goal).  The percentage tells you how well your child is doing on that particular goal, from 0%-100% (ex.  If your child is performing the skill correctly 4 out of 10 times, I will write 40%).

**Important**

Please leave the progress reports, report cards, and updated IEPs in the STAR book.  This way, you will be able to see your child's progress throughout the year.  You will be able to keep all of them at the end of the school year.  However, if you would like another copy now, please let me know and I would be happy to send you an extra copy to keep.  Since we are leaving the progress reports, report cards, and updated IEPs in the STAR book, please initial in the comments section next to where we write what we are sending home.  That way, we know that you saw it.
